Star Party- 14th October 2017  19:30 to 22:30
Offering everyone an opportunity to see some of the wonders of the night sky. As well as the main telescope in the observatory itself, we have several other instruments, and society members also bring along their own equipment for visitors to use. There will be an introductory talk about the night sky and refreshments are usually available. Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own telescopes. Whether you have a scope that you use, or one that’s in a box in the loft, then bring it along!

Make a Monster- 23rd  October 2017        11:30am – 3pm

Come and take part in some uncanny undertakings this October half term. We’ve got something to appeal to all the little ghouls and boys out there – fun arts and crafts activities with just a shiver of Halloween fun! It’s a real spook-tacle! And with all the activities included in the price of entry to the Farm, it’s quite eek!-onomical… On Monday 23rd we will be creating giant spiders using pompoms and cardboard – let your little Dr Frankenstein create their own little monster. Give it big teeth, spooky eyes or even some fangs – then use it to scare everyone around you!

And with all the activities included in the price of entry to the Farm, it’s quite eek!-onomical… On Tuesday 24th we will be travelling across the ocean to Mexico for their Halloween holiday – “Dia de los Muertos”, The Day of the Dead! This popular Mexican holiday is well known for its sugar skull art, and we thought we would give it a go! Come down and decorate your very own sugar skull window sticker. You can make it as pretty or as scary as you want and then take it home to add to your own decorations!

On Thursday 26th we will be getting crafty as we help our little farmers transform themselves into vampires, werewolves, mummies, teachers – whatever you find scariest! Not feeling too crafty? Don’t worry there will be plenty of daily activities to keep those little monsters busy! *Activities are first come, first serve – so don’t lose your head and miss out!*

On Friday 27th come down to the Farm and decorate your very own personalized bag and be the envy of all the boys and ghouls on your street! *Activities are first come, first serve – so don’t lose your head and miss out!*

Pumpkin Carving- 28th & 29th October 2017   11:30am – 3pm

And with all the activities included in the price of entry, it’s quite eek!-onomical… The dread of every parent over Halloween is the state of the kitchen when your little devils start their pumpkin carving. Let us help you out – grab your little monsters and head down to our safe pumpkin carving sessions on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th. We supply the pumpkin, you supply the imagination!

Telescope Workshop – 11th November 2017  19:30 – 22:00

Do you fancy yourself as a bit of a star gazer but struggle on getting that perfect image through your telescope? Were you bought a telescope but frankly have no idea how to use it? If you are or know someone who struggles with the above or if your a budding astronomer and fancy meeting with others in the area why not come along to the Letchworth and District Astronomical Society’s Telescope Workshop.
